The Horseless Carriage Education Institution (HCEI) makes grants and scholarships only to educational organizations that are exempt under section 501 (c) 3 of the Internal Revenue Code. The HCEI does not make grants to individuals or for-profit organizations. Qualifying organizations must:
- Support research, documentation, and development of material regarding the genesis of the automotive vehicle in America during the period from 1890 to 1915, its technical development, its social impact and a whole new way of life that resulted during this period
- Strive to maintain the legacy of the automotive genesis period through preservation, education, demonstration and display
Funding availability for grants and scholarships are dependent upon individual and group contributions to HCEI. Grant or scholarship requests should be sent to:
