The HCEI is an independent organization dedicated to the American automobiles manufactured between 1890 and 1915. This is the Horseless Carriage era that is represented by open vehicles with skinny tires and wood wheels, adorned with polished brass lights and windshield frames, hubcaps and so many other items.

These are the vehicles that attract attention for their style and mechanical advances. Yankee ingenuity was well displayed during this period and collectors of these Horseless Carriages are willing to share their knowledge of the vehicles and their makers and how the automotive industry in its infancy shaped the way of life in America! The social impacts were indeed great.
